The United States EPA and partners are currently onsite performing house to house Phase 1 cleanup tasks, removing hazardous materials. Upon completion of Phase 1, Phase 2 work can begin. Phase 1 work is scheduled to be complete 2/28/2025. ADR has a direct link to know when Phase one will be completed on your specific property.
There are 2 options Homeowners can make have the Phase 2 work completed, they can OPT-IN or OPT-OUT. If they decide to OPT-IN The federal government will take control and perform clean up via the ARMY CORE of Engineers. Deciding to OPT-OUT leaves the homeowner in control for the clean up efforts. ADR is here to help you make the best decision for your unique situation.
To OPT-OUT of the government cleanup effort can be a wise decision for many homeowners. If you have fire insurance and are planning to rebuild in your current location this may be your best route for many reasons. ADR can look at your individual circumstances, help you make an educated decision, and facilitate moving forward.
If you are uninsured, or under insured this will be your best option. This may be a good option if you have no immediate plan to rebuild or timeline is not an issue.

Not if you have fire insurance. If you have home replacement coverage the demolition and debris removal can be paid for out of replacement cost. If you work with a reputable contractor this cost will be covered by your insurance company and payment can be made once funds are received by you.
In most cases yes. However, there are still benefits to using your own private insurance and reasons why this may be a more cost-effective option over all. In a major rebuild effort the first properties to be built enjoy the benefits of lower cost of construction materials, a wider range of contractors to choose from and more competitive rates from builders. In addition, if items on your property are not a total loss, they may be able to be saved, worked around and will not need to be replaced out of available insurance compensation. This type of personal service will not be available with the major government run cleanup effort.
Timeline. As of now there is no set plan or timeline for the Army Corps to begin work. Once they do, there are over 16,000 structures that have been deemed destroyed and will need to be disposed of. Working with ADR you will be in the front of the line and receive one on one service to work have completed as quickly as possible. Once it is deemed safe to do so.
